Infantino urges Asian countries to support Saudi Arabia to host the World Cup.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has called on Asian football to join the federation ahead of the 2034 World Cup.
Speaking during the Asian Football Confederation conference on Wednesday, the FIFA president urged the AFC to support the Saudi bid, as it is the main contender to host the global tournament.
He said: “It is clear that my message to all of you, which I repeat here, is that we are united in Asia for the 2034 World Cup that will unite the world again.”
He added: "As we see, there is enough division around the world. We need occasions to bring people together, we need occasions to send messages of unity. We like to say that football unites the world."
Saudi Arabia has already begun its campaign to host the tournament by submitting a letter of interest to FIFA on October 9, with FIFA inviting countries from the Asia and Oceania regions to submit bids.
The Saudi Football Federation announced that it has already received the support of more than 70 federations from various continents after announcing its endeavor to organize the World Cup.
